The KH10.0 winch is designed as a replacement unit for an existing system and should bolt into place using your existing components.
If this is a new system installation, you may need additional components to properly complete the system (Fluid Supply Tank, Balancing Valve, Directional Valve). See retailer for additional components to complete system.
Powerful hydraulic motor with up to 10,000 lb of pulling power to move a variety of items or for recovery. Free-spool clutch for quick cable deployment. Automatic full-load holding braking system for safety. Roller fairlead reduces cable friction, wear and damage. Wired remote control for operation at safe distances.
The schematic illustration below can be found on page 3 of the owner’s manual. This is the factory recommendation for hooking up this hydraulic winch, we DO NOT suggest any other method to power and operate this hydraulic winch. Hydraulic pressure can be very dangerous if not controlled and used correctly.
The KH10.0 uses NPT (National Pipe Thread) connections on the winch ports.
Exceeding the maximum inlet pressure will not provide any additional performance from the winch.
When using on a farm implement we recommend checking with the tractor dealer and discuss the winch HYD. requirements shown in the Performance Specifications, to make sure the winch is within the tractor’s hydraulic capabilities or if any pressure valves or regulators are need for the tractor to operate this winch.
Question:
Winch is to slow for particular use. Is it possible to change the inside gears to make it faster? It is presently on a ratio of 80-1.
Answer:
We do not recommend changing the gear ratio or modifying the hydraulic pressure in any way to change the speed of the winch. Any modification to the winch will void ALL warrantees and may cause damage to the winch and personal injury up to death to the user.
Again, Sorry we do not advise modifying the winch from the factory specifications for your safety.
Question:
Why is it difficult to pull the cable off the winch drum?
Answer:
The grease in our gear box is a heavy weight grease required for this application. The factory confirmed the cable pulling force required to pull the cable off the winch drum at the assemble line and before the winch leaves the factory is around 20 KG (44lbs). Warming the gear box up does help the grease have more lubricity and the cable to pull easier.
