A: Make sure the spindle is fully inserted into the back of the inside latch and that the cone shape spindle spring is assembled with wide end toward the door and narrow end toward the button.
Q: Why does the inside latch unlock after closing the door?
A: The inside latch has a "No Lock Out" feature. If locked before closing the door it will unlock the inside latch as it drags across the strike plate.
Q: Why does pushing on the outside button unlock the inside while the door is closed?
A: The spindle or flat bar that attaches the inside to the outside is one segment too long. Remove a segment and the problem will be fixed.
Q: Can I lock the door on my why out?
A: No, the inside latch has a "No Lock Out" feature. If locked before closing the door it will unlock the latch as the catch drags across the strike plate. It can only be locked after it is closed with key on exterior or locking lever while on interior.
Q: If outside handle has tie down screw and need to drill hole.
A: Tie down screw is the SCREW, 8X3/4 PH PN SMS and to install drill a 3/32" hole PART WAY through the outside of the door and install tie down screw.
