To remove the hinge pin, insert a nail or punch pin into the hole in the bottom plug/cap on the bottom of the hinge knuckles and tap or hit the nail/punch pin with a hammer, driving the hinge pin up.
Sometimes the hinge pins and the hinge knuckles get stuck together over time and require a hard hit to get the pin to come free from the knuckles.
